There are fads and styles in the stock market just as there are in women’s clothes!
These can, for as much as several years at a time, produce distortions in the relationship of existing prices to real values almost as great as those faced by the merchant who can hardly give away the high quality knee length dresses in a year when fashion is to the ankle.
These investment fads and misinterpretations of facts may run for several months or several years. In the long run, however, realities not only terminate them, but frequently, for a time, cause the affected stocks to go too far in the opposite direction!

When talking about the stock market, we often use a simple average, like any Index, to quickly understand the big picture.
But the Index is not a perfect representation because it’s usually made of only a limited number of large stocks.
When looking at an individual stock, we can use a similar idea, a moving average, to see the bigger picture.
Let us consider a particularly volatile stock. For example it peaked near 200 in March then bottomed under 60 in June and the most recent price is 140.
A simplistic moving average for the above stock (more precisely, the arithmetic mean) is calculated exactly as you would expect.

Junk bond sales reached a record this month as rising profits and record low Federal Reserve interest rates foster lending and investment to the lowest-rated borrowers.
Companies worldwide issued $38.3 billion of junk bonds in March, passing the previous high of $36 billion in November 2006, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Yields fell 0.95 percentage point to within 5.96 percentage points of government debt, the narrowest gap since January 2008, Bank of America Merrill Lynch index data show.

People tend to feel sorrow and grief after having made an error in judgement.
Investors deciding whether to sell or buy a security are typically emotionally affected by whether the security was bought or sold for more or less than the current price.
One theory is that investors avoid selling stocks that are going down, in order to avoid the fear, pain and regret of having made a bad investment.
On the other hand, they also avoid selling when prices are going up, because they are very greedy and are afraid that the price will keep on going up.
Many people are wondering why they didn’t take their i.e. 50% or 200% gains when they had the chance. Most investors will rationalize they ran these high gains down because they were afraid they would lose even higher profits.

Companies are selling high-yield, high-risk bonds at the fastest pace since credit markets seized up in 2007 amid signs the economic recovery is gaining momentum.
Renault SA, the second-largest French automaker, Pittsburgh-based U.S. Steel Corp. and other speculative-grade borrowers issued $24.2 billion of high-yield notes in March through last week, putting this month on course to be the busiest since June 2007, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Sales are up from $16.2 billion in all of February.

The U.S. House passed the most sweeping health-care legislation in four decades, rewriting the rules governing medical industries and ensuring that tens of millions of uninsured Americans will get medical coverage.
Yesterday’s 219-212 vote marks the biggest victory for President Barack Obama, who will sign the bill into law. Only Democrats voted for the legislation, underscoring a partisan divide that promises to make health care the defining issue in November’s congressional elections.

All I can say is Bravo! Your picks and advice have been dead on 100% of the time.

While the U.S. Markets are constantly a Roller Coaster of energetic fun, one Rule stays true.
Whether we be in a Bull Market, or a Bear Market, you must ALWAYS keep a level head. Emotions cloud your judgment, and reduce your profits!
By always having STRICT Trading Rules set in place, you are sure to do better than the average investor.
Stop Losses, Trailing Stop Losses; Limit Orders are just some of the practices used by pros that can help you maximize your profits, while greatly reducing your downside (Risk).
We highly recommend signing up to the ChartPoppers.com Newsletter where you will receive our FREE Ebook "Investors Edge" PLUS weekly Updates on select Emerging Growth Trading Opportunities.
